 When I paint, I will enter a meditation state.  A state that sits between realism and surrealism, between heaven and the earth. My inspiration usually comes from that illusion. My work has hugely influenced by Salvador Dalí, Spanish surrealist painter, best known for striking images and Lin Fengmian, Chinese painter, the pioneer of modern Chinese painting. They are the masters that I have learnt a lot from and I respect the most.

2. When did u find out that you want to be a painter?

Painting has long been my interest since I was little, thus, I knew that I want to be a painter since then.

3. Do you paint your emotions of the moment or when you start a painting you already have a theme in mind?

Before I start painting, I will first come up with a theme and a general frame of the picture. When I paint, I listen to music and try to portray the story of it. My style of painting varies as I listen to music of different genre and different melodies.

4. Does your art work reflect any of your personal experience?

Absolutely. Different colors and different styles of stroke in my pictures represent different phases in my life. For instance, when I was going through rough times, my strokes will become more chaotic. On the contrary, when my emotional state is more positive and stable,

 5. Do you try to express your creativity through your daily outfit?

When it comes to fashion, my bias is pretty distinct from my painting style. My paintings are always vivid and expressive whereas my clothes collection is very minimal. Navy blue, army green, black and white are the colors I tend to reach for on a daily basis. I pay extra attention to the quality and the fit of clothes. Case in point, I am particularly fond of clothes with Italian fit. That being said, I like to mix and match colors and pieces so as to create different looks, I guess that is another way of expressing myself in a creative way.

6. Have you ever thought of collaborating with fashion brands to create a collection or getting into the fashion world?

I am always open to all kind of opportunities. Fashion and art, when we mention either one, it seems impossible not to associate with one another. Being an artist as well as a fashion enthusiast, what better than being able to create art pieces that build up a bridge between the two? I previously collaborated with various fashion brands where I utilized my body painting skills, apart from that, I would love to try designing clothes, scarfs, accessories and the list goes on. There are always infinite possibilities between the two.

7. What are your aspiration for the future?

I wish I could frequently organize art exhibitions at different places. I would also like to get to know more artists so that the interflow of art could be encouraged.
